వేదం,  తత్వం;

***

నీ  నిజాయితీ  ఊపిరి  బలానికి  ఆయాసపడింది  ‘అస్తమా’;

A brief note:

Sri Pamulaparthi Sadasivarao, who was considered as “Walking encyclopaedia”,  had spent almost 50 years of his life (he lived for 76 years) in a bungalow room (meda gadi) of his house in a small lane beside fire station at Matwada, Warangal. He used to lie down in a half moon style on the bed with resting his back o pillows and used to read and write in the posture of  “half moon”. He was a voracious reader of many books and was a frequent writer. He was a great thinker, philosopher, music lover, writer, speaker and what not!

Give  him any topic and he can touch all angles of that topic and can continuously give a discourse, that too  an authoratitive one, on it by giving a wide range of references.

Because of his keen interest on Hindusthaani and Carnaatic music he started ‘Kaakatiya kalaasamithi’ in 1950 and with the support of other eminent personalities like organize ‘Thyaagaraaja mahosthwaalu’
every year in Warangal and eminent musicians like Maharajauram Santhaanam, Baalamurali krishna’ came down to Warangal to participate in these utsavs.

He started publishing some literary articles under ‘Kankatiya Samkalanalu’ in 1942, which later on was converted into the famous weekly magazine ‘KAKATIYA PATRIKA” in 1949, which was considered as ‘TELANGANA PUTHRIKA’ during those days. He along with Sri P.V. NARASIMHA RAO ran that weekly news magazine  for about a decade, which was very popular and powerful with realistic journalistic values. Both were called ‘JAYA- VIJAYULU’ and their guru (master) was Late Sri GAARLAPAATI RAGHAVA REDDY GARU. His another disciple was the famous ‘Prajakavi’ Sri KAALOJI  NAARAAYANA RAO, who was treated as ‘big brother” (PEDDAANNA) by both Jaya-vijayas.

During 1960s & 1970s he wrote a number of articles in ‘VISHWA JYOTHI”, a monthly magazine edited by late Sri Katanguru Narasimha Reddy, a great freedom fighter.

Sri P.V. and Sri   Sadasiva rao were best friends and each loved the other in spite of different ideologies. He used to write frequent letters to  Sri P.V. giving his opinions and thoughts and suitably advising him. Sri P.V.  always sought his opinions on various issues, appreciated and used to adopt the ideas given by him with in his practical political limits. Both used to write letters to each oteher and shared their ideas on literature, philosophy, education and political and social matters.

He was dead against the ‘World bank and multi national” way Sri P.V., as  prime minister of India wanted to lead the country. He used to say that this leads to the Prime minister of India reaching a low stage of carrying  the brief cases of the World bank authorities. He wanted India to develop like India by retaining its glorious philosophy, culture, traditions, history and not blindly copying  others ruining our past glory.

The ‘meda gadi’ is a meeting place of various eminent personalities and various important discussions, discourses and decisions..

Some of his important literary works:

1.      CHARITRA –SAMSKRITHI – KALA  (1952)

2.      TATHWA SASHTRA PATHAALU    (1954)

3.      Abhudaya geyaalu   (1958)

4.      Gnaana sidddhantham (1960)

He was the person who initiated, planned and organized “POTHANA PANCHASHATHI UTSHAVAALU”  at Warangal during 1982 and later “VIDHYAARANYA VIDWAD GHOSTHI” in 1987.

Most of his life, he experienced poverty, but he never felt ashamed of poverty and lived a simple life confined to the meda gadi reading and writing. People of various walks of life used to meet him in meda gadi for obtaining the information on the topic of their interest. He was like a encyclopedia kept in a glass almirah of a library and interested persons approached to get vast information from this encyclopedia.

He was lean and used to consume a number of teas and was a heavy smoker of ‘chaarminar’ cigarettes. He was suffering from ‘asthma’ for a large period of his late years and was attacked by  ‘throat cancer’ in 1995. In spite of his ill health, during the last part of his life he gave some wonderful weekly lectures for about a decade on every Sunday  on ‘Bharatha punarujjeevanam’ touching the various  topics of Indian and western  philosophies at  Sampath Rajaram gardens at Warangal,   which was named as ‘NIMISHAARANYAM’.   He died on 26th August 1996.
